Antler Ring.

First I thought of how much I liked these rings, then I thought of how much my dear Kate would like these rings, then I thought of how much I would like to share these rings with everyone I know.

Toronto based artist Anneke van Bommel makes wonderful things. period. I like her sense of humour in her design.
Check out her etsy for totally amazing and affordable jewelry and art.

Horsey Poster.

Found this horsey at a 2nd hand shop a month and a half ago. It's one of my fav finds, I think it's so rad. Paid $5 for her, I believe. I was planning to leave her in the original frame, but I discovered yesterday it has mysteriously formed a huge crack in the glass! :( nothing Ikea can't fix!

Which matting do you like better, White or Grey?

Original, broken:(

white matting:

grey matting:

love you horsey!

I think I'll stick with the grey!

St Lawrence Antique Market.

Today I went to the St. Lawrence Antique Market. It's hands down the best antique market in Toronto. Usually I go for bottons and jewelry. Today I got art, a rug, a tapestry, a lamp, and a book. Very Success day, much aided by having my mom with me:) I didn't bother taking a picture of my book, but it's a beautiful hard cover history of costume book.

Here is the tapestry, I think I might turn it into a pillow, it would make a rad pillow. It's sitting on my new rug, which is apparently an Italian bed cover, but I think it makes a better rug.

horsey lamp!
My textile shadow box- with wool flowers, so lovely! The picture just doesn't do it justice!
The rug. I think it will look lovely in my new living room:)

Vertical Garden.

Patrick Blanc invented the concept of the Vertical Garden.
His work blows my mind. You can read more about him on his website http://www.verticalgardenpatrickblanc.com/

Sam Javanrouh.

Tonight I rediscovered one of my favourite Toronto based photographers, Sam Javanrouh.
I love when I read the caption of where the photo was taken and it surprises me. Often the photos will be taken in a completely different way than we see the streets and intersections we pass every day. Other times, the pictures are just plain beautiful.

Enjoy,

(a lot of these pictures are ones I saved 2-3 years ago... so you won't find them right away on the site)

this one you can see my building right in the middle:

Old Favourites.

Here are some photos of mine I like:

This is Jasper and Sophie, snuggling!

This was taken at about 1am after I had a drink or 2 at my mom's. The moon was really bright, but it was very windy, this is the only one that turned out well. & I just made it a little brighter.

I have a ton of favourite pictures from this night, the night the men's Canadian hockey team won gold! What an amazing night!

Modern house in an old neighbourhood.

I really like this modern house on Bernard st. I'm not usually one to go for this kind of design, but I find this house awfully beautiful and interesting. It's hard to not notice it in a sea of late 1800's mansions.
Since it was a sunny day they have the shades up, but you can see the stairs all the way up to the 3rd floor in these skinny windows.

I'd take the neighbours house without a doubt though. lol

Sunday.

Sunday was a beautiful sunny day. I saw a fire eating crazyman, a line of cops overlooking a pro medical marijuana protest, some lady cops on horse (so awesome), a silly little squirrel playing in a yard full of flowers and easter eggs, and had lunch on a patio with friends who were too cool to actually pose for a picture. Well, I'll stop explaining, you can see for yourself:

ohh this horse is so badass in is protective gear.

To chop or not to chop?

I'm trying to decide if I want to cut my hair off into a bob.
I'm worried I'll regret it... Any Advice?
